Weddings & Holy Unions
The Worship Center's high ceilings and numerous windows create an airy, spacious atmosphere for wedding and holy union ceremonies. Soaring windows overlooking picturesque Lake Merritt are situated on the west side of the center. A glass mosaic triptych, designed and rendered in the early 1920's under the direct supervision of Louis C. Tiffany, is displayed on the north wall, providing an exquisite backdrop for your wedding.
The contemporary design of this room features comfortable chairs and a moveable platform, allowing for various seating configurations accommodating up to 250 people in upholstered chairs. Normally there are approximately 165 chairs set up. We can also take down chairs to suit a smaller group. We often change the room arrangement during the year to meet the needs of our worship services, so the layout of chairs and the platform may be facing the windows, the Tiffany Panels, or in a circle in the center of the room. If there is time prior to and following your ceremony, an additional fee can be paid to have the room arranged to your preference.
Our sound system with multiple microphones will meet the needs of most ceremonies, and you are welcome to bring a CD to be played through our sound system. A Yamaha grand piano is located in the Worship Center to be used by your musician(s). Our three manual and pedal pipe organ may be played by a qualified organist.
We invite you to make an appointment to come and see the church for yourself! Contact our Facilities Administrator.

The Host/Hostess: The services of our ceremony host/ess are integral to the success of your ceremony. She/he makes sure that the facility is open and properly arranged, handles the lights and sound system, including playing your CD, and will be on hand to make sure everything goes smoothly. She/he is available to assist at the rehearsal and the ceremony if needed. While you may also have your own coordinator, our host/ess is required when using our facilities.
Time: Your reservation includes use of the Worship Center for a five and one-half hour period of time to include: the rehearsal, decorating, picture taking, and clean up. How you choose to use this amount of time will be discussed at the time making your reservation.
The Minister: You are welcome to have any minister of your choice conduct your ceremony. We can help arrange for an officiant if needed.
Children: Children are most welcome to attend your ceremony here. Our fully enclosed play structure is a wonderful asset to having your ceremony here if you expect to have children present. You are required to provide supervision of children at all times.
Parking: The church provides approximately 35 off-street parking spaces. Our experience is that plenty of street parking is available for your guests.
Making Your Reservation: A refundable security deposit of $250 plus 50% of the rental fees is required in order to reserve the date and time on the calendar. The balance is due at least 30 days prior to your event.
