Worship Service 10:30am - 11:30am

Sunday worship at Lake Merritt UMC is filled with good music, time for the children, dramatic renderings of the scriptures, and preaching that touches the lives of ordinary people.

Children up to ten years old are invited to take part in a special activity which follows the Time for the Children.

We focus our worship so that it offers something for you to take into your daily life. When you worship with us, you can see the diversity of our congregation.

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.

Child Care 9:30am - 11:30am

Infant Childcare A loving and caring professional takes care of babies and toddlers up to 2.5 years old in our bright and cheerful nursery.

Pre-School (age 2-5): Children from age 2.5 to 5 are welcome in this class where we focus on developing loving interpersonal relations in a fun environment. Staffed by a professional teacher and volunteer assistants.

Sunday School
9:30am - 10:30am

Younger Elementary Class: Children in kindergarten through grade 3 are welcome in this class. We also have an optional activity time during the worship service. We focus on developing respect for ourselves and each other and learning about God.

Older Elementary Class: Children in grades 4-6 are welcome in this class. We focus on knowledge of the Bible and our relationship to God's world. This class takes an annual winter retreat.

Youth Class: Youth in grades 7-9 are welcome in this class. We focus on learning about our role in the Christian community. We participate in periodic service projects such as working with the pre-school class, planning the Halloween party, and the Good Samaritan Project.

Women's Prayer Group: Pray with women of all ages for personal and global concerns.

After Service Fellowship 11:30am - 12:30pm

This is a place to make new friends and to be connected to a community that cares about you, about others, and about the community.
