Below are this week’s announcements! Please read all the way through!

The Interfaith Power & Light network has been offered a unique opportunity to be among the first to share the new short film, Other Side of the Hill. Plan to share it with your congregations and members! The film is a hopeful, inspiring look at local leaders on the ground in rural America who are leading climate action in their communities. But it is also about coming together, finding common ground and new climate frameworks, and shining a light on rural voices as we envision a path forward.

SAVE THE DATE. The film will be available for free online viewing July 10 – 25. Registration opens July 1.

You can watch the trailer and sign up to get a registration reminder here.

Individuals are invited to view it at home with family and friends.

Congregations are encouraged to share the film over Zoom or stream it for an in-person, Covid-safe event.

Sign up here to be reminded to register on July 1.

This 30-minute film is the ideal length to provide time for discussion at film screenings. Plan ahead to use the IPL screening kit to dive into a deep discussion on how we can reach out and bridge the divide, which will be available on July 1. The IPL screening kit for the Other Side of the Hill will include faith-based questions for discussion, promotional materials, and a Climate Conversation Guide on talking about climate change with people across the religious or political spectrum. It will also include a link to view a pre-recorded conversation between two of the film’s rural activists and me as we delve into shared values and what inspires these activists to take action to heal the climate.

Here is another summer screening opportunity:

Kiss the Ground screening kit is available again! Over 10,000 people viewed this important film through IPL! This kit sold out quickly and due to continued demand IPL now has a new shipment of DVDs available at a discounted price of $19.95, including screening rights for sharing over Zoom and in-person. IPL’s information-packed screening guide with faith-based discussion resources is included as a free download.

Buy your Kiss the Ground screening kit today.

May this new film help us all find common ground in caring for Earth.

Blessings,

Rev. Susan Hendershot, President
