Beware Text Message Scams

Many of you have received fraudulent text messages to your cell phones purporting to be from church members or staff. Please know that no one connected to our church is asking you to send money, gift cards, or personal information by phone or text.

Unfortunately, scammers got hold of our church directory, which includes phone numbers and mailing addresses. Be on the lookout for these scams and do not respond to them.

Because the church directory does not include email addresses, we do not believe that they have your email addresses. However, as a general precaution, double-check the source of an email. Watch out for emails that include church or staff members’ names contained within them, as scammers can do this to give you the impression that they are someone else. Do not open any links or download any files in a suspicious message.
