Sound Bath

6:45pm Friday, June 14th

Our Sound Bath returns this Friday, June 14th with special guest musician and sound healer Maryzelle Ungo. You may learn more about Maryzelle by checking out her bio on our Eventbrite page.

What better way to end your week than by slowing down and relaxing, surrounded by meditative vibrations and melodies? Be immersed in flowing sounds as you sit in a chair or lie on the floor with your own mat, blanket, and/or pillow. Admittance for the church community is donation-based; $20 is suggested via cash, check, or Venmo. No RSVP needed. Doors open at 6:30 pm; please arrive by 6:45. Program begins promptly at 7:00pm. Pastoral and Staff Vacation Schedule

Pastor Sunae will be on vacation for the next two weeks from 6/17-6/29. Please call Pastor Dale for any pastoral care during this time. Our Church Administrator, Deacon Ken, will be on vacation from June 24-30th. If you would like to submit any reservation requests or e-blast announcements before the end of June, please reach out to the office by next Thursday, June 20.


Our Town

June 14th-16th, 21st-23rd

Pinole Community Players presents Thornton Wilder’s 1938 Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Our Town,” which expresses part of the spiritual essence of Christianity and other religions through the story of a small, fictional New England town in the early 1900’s. LMUMC member Susannah Wood has a leading role in the play. Performances will be held at Pinole Community Playhouse. Visit this link to purchase tickets. Bay Area Rainbow Symphony Concert

7:30pm Saturday, June 22nd

If you enjoyed hearing the Musical Chairs Quartet of Oakland perform recently at our church, they will be playing in concert again, this time as members of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony (BARS). The concert will be held at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 22 at the Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Ave, in San Francisco’s Civic Center and will feature Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with special guest soloists and full chorus, as well as Ethel Smyth’s Overture to The Botswain’s Mate and Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait. Tickets, including senior and student tickets, may be purchased at www.bars-sf.org.


Taylor Memorial UMC New Orleans Extravaganza

You’re invited to join Taylor Memorial UMC for a night of food, fun, and fellowship! A taste of New Orleans in Oakland featuring live Zydeco music by California Blue Runners Band, dancing, New Orleans cuisine, beverages, drawing, auction, and more. E-blast Submission Guidelines

All submissions are due by Wednesday at noon. The Lead Pastor and Church Administrator maintain discretion regarding e-blast content and timing to ensure overall consistency and best practices in church communication. If you would like to submit an announcement for our weekly e-blast, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Your event must take place within one month of being published.
  2. Please provide a headline/title that includes the dates of your event.
  3. Have a fully prepared description of your event. Generally, administrative staff will not be available to edit your content.
  4. Please be succinct; try to keep your description to no more than four sentences, providing key facts.
  5. If you require a longer background, please provide a PDF (so that it may be linked on the events page) in addition to your headline and brief description.
  6. To support shorter narratives please consider providing a graphic that illustrates your event.

If you would like your announcement read during Sunday worship, please indicate that in your submission and copy Pastor Sunae.
