Covenant Service

On August 11, 1755, John Wesley led the first Covenant Service in the Methodist movement. He found it so meaningful that he wrote, “Many mourned before God, and many were comforted” (April 1756).

Join us as we begin 2026 by renewing our hearts before God and one another through this historic service. Drawing from 1 Peter’s call to holy living, we will center our worship on Wesley’s Covenant Prayer—a powerful commitment to surrender ourselves to God.

The Covenant Prayer

I am no longer my own, but yours. Put me to what you will, align me with whom you will; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you, let me be full, let me be empty, let me have all things, let me have nothing: I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal. And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, you are mine and I am yours. So be it. And the covenant now made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
– John Wesley
