Fellowship begins at 5:30 PM prior to the service.

Easter Sunrise Service

Gather with our circuit community at sunrise to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with prayer, scripture, and song as the new day begins. Rev. Vathanak Heang, the lead pastor of Buena Vista UMC, will be leading the service.

Easter Celebration Service at LMUMC

Sunday, April 5 at 10:15 AM

Join us for a joyful and uplifting Easter worship as we proclaim: Christ is risen!

Flowering the Cross: Children are invited to decorate the cross—please bring fresh-cut flowers from your yard.

Easter Offering: This year’s offering will support a full-time Operations Manager position, strengthening the mission and ministries of our church.

Special Easter Sunday Activities for Kids  

Sunday, April 5

.

On Easter Sunday, April 5, we will have our annual Easter egg hunt in the courtyard after church. Bags will be provided so you don’t have to bring anything. We would love it if the youth could hide the eggs during worship.
For the children’s moment, we will decorate the cross with flowers. Folks with flowers in their gardens are invited to bring some to help decorate the cross.
Our pre-school class will have their usual lesson with May and Kelly. Our Godly Play group will stay in the service with special activity packets.
Parents – please pick up your children right after the service so we can start the egg hunt!

Choose one of these options for walking:
Shorter
Meet in front of Lake Merritt UMC at 1:00pm; walk over to the Lake Merritt Amphitheater and hangout. Contact Marlene Yamashita (maryamca@att.net or 925-286-9682) if you plan to do this.
Medium
Meet in front plaza of City Hall around noon. Marching from the Plaza to the Lake Merritt Amphitheater is scheduled to begin ~1:00.
Longer
Meet at 11:30am at First Unitarian Church, 685 14th St. The Faith Contingent of the Rally (OCT, etc) will pray, sing, & walk 4 blocks to City Hall, where the official No Kings Rally starts.

LMUMC Youth Group

First Sunday and Third Weekend of Each Month

We’re excited to share that our Youth Group meets twice a month and welcomes all youth ages 14–18 to join us.

Our gatherings will include:

Scripture Study: First Sunday of each month during service

Fun Activity: Third weekend of each month

Sign up to Volunteer with Our Food Pantry 

Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28

Fourth Saturday of every month

Our Food Ministries invite members of the congregation and the public to volunteer with our monthly food pantry. You are welcome to volunteer in different ways: On Fridays, volunteers help receive and set-up the food pantry (10 AM – 11 AM), and on Saturday, volunteers will facilitate food distribution (8 AM – 10 AM). Voci Women’s Vocal Ensemble Concerts

April 12th and 19th

In these concerts, Voci will celebrate the beauty of fresh beginnings in the world around us as well as within us. Through music by Daniel Brinsmead, Veljo Tormis, Libby Larsen, Diane White-Clayton and more, Voci will present the growth, birth and bounty of Spring. As nature’s renewal comes alive through music, we hope you will be inspired with a sense of hope and love that Spring brings!
