This summer at Lake Merritt UMC, we’re taking a joy-filled faith journey with Jesus—an adventurous, life-giving trip where grace interrupts the ordinary and Christ invites us to follow. In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus calls surprising disciples, heals the hurting, sends us out with compassion, teaches in vivid parables, feeds the hungry, and meets us in the storm.
This series is for anyone longing for faith that feels alive again—curious, courageous, and full of wonder. Pack light. Bring your questions. Expect Jesus to show up.
Along this journey, we are also blessed to welcome guest speakers from Path 1, Discipleship Ministries, and Climate Justice Ministries Task Force of our Annual Conference who will help us deepen our understanding of discipleship, renewal, Climate Justice and Creation Care and the movement of the Spirit in today’s church. Their presence connects our local stories at LMUMC with the wider mission of the United Methodist Church – reminding us that we are part of something larger than ourselves.
