Embodying the Love of God –

Fellowship and Connection

In our world of constant busyness and endless scrolling, it’s easy to mistake digital connection for true community. We can “like” and “follow” in a moment, yet still feel unseen and alone. The early church in Acts 2:42 reminds us of a different way—gathering in person, sharing meals, praying together, and truly knowing one another.  Our reflection is guided by Bishop Israel Maestrado Painit of the Philippines Central Conference of the UMC. Join us.

Embodying the Love of God – Embracing Diversity

This Sunday, we are blessed to reflect on the theme “Embracing Diversity”, guided by the words of Bishop David Wilson of the Great Plains Annual Conference. Rooted in Philippians 2:1-4, we are reminded that unity in Christ is not about sameness, but about humility, love and shared purpose.

Diversity is a gift from God – woven into our cultures, experiences, and communities. Like a tossed salad, each of us brings our unique flavor, identity, and story to the table. Together, we create something beautiful.  As Pentecost people, let us seek harmony not by erasing difference, but by celebrating it – living as one body, many members, united in Christ. Join us!

Embodying the Love of God – A Table Open to All

In Luke 14, Jesus paints a vision of God’s radical hospitality—a banquet where the least expected are given places of honor, and the invitation extends far beyond the usual guest list. As Pentecost people, we are called not only to receive this invitation but to embody it—to extend God’s welcome beyond barriers of class, race, ability, or belonging. At God’s table, all are equal, all are honored, all are beloved.

Called to Bear Witness – Hope

In Matthew 28 and Acts 1, the risen Christ commissions his followers: “Go and make disciples of all nations” and “You will be my witnesses… to the ends of the earth.” These aren’t just words for the first disciples — they are a living call for us today.

To be Pentecost people is to be a community formed and empowered by the Holy Spirit, sent into the world to bear witness to God’s love. It means living with courage, compassion, and purpose — making Christ’s love visible through both word and action.

We are called not to retreat from the world’s complexity, but to enter into it with the fire of heavenly love — proclaiming good news, healing the broken, and working for justice. This is the witness we offer. This is the love we embody.

Join us as we hear the video message from Bishop Hector Burgos Núñez of the Upper New York Conference of the UMC.

Inbreaking New Creation – Hope

“Hope that can be seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?” – Romans 8:24

In a village in Papua New Guinea, hope is described as “seeing through the horizon.” It’s a beautiful reminder that hope is not rooted in what we already hold, but in the trust that something more — God’s vision of love, justice, and peace — is drawing near.

Even when life feels heavy with struggle or clouded by uncertainty, God invites us to see with the eyes of faith — to live now as if the new creation is already among us. Wherever compassion is practiced, justice pursued, and welcome extended — there, hope breaks through.

The Resurrection of the Crucified – Faith

Today we begin a new worship series called Pentecost People designed by the Council of Bishop of the United Methodist Church.

Philippians 2 calls us to the way of Christ—who emptied himself in love, not to dominate but to heal. Today, we reflect on faith in the resurrection of the crucified—a faith rooted in cruciform love that surrenders power, embraces humility, and brings new life.

Bishop Schwerin, from the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, invites us to let go of old stories of dominion and live into Ubuntu—a vision of mutual care and shared flourishing. Even while it is still dark, resurrection breaks in. Let us live with faith, hope, and love as signs of God’s new creation.
