Rally Sunday, Aug 20
Celebrating Our Ministry with Children & Choir
We would like to celebrate a new start and a new effort in involving children, youth, and choir in our faith community. We will recognize all our children and youth moving into new graded classes. We will also lift our Choir and their renewed effort in praising and worshiping God through music. We will be presenting Bibles to our children and youth on Rally Sunday. We want to bless our children, youth, families, teachers, and our choir.
Please submit the names of this year’s graduates to administration or Pastor Sunae via email – We would like to recognize and congratulate them for their accomplishments!

Roofing Closure
Aug 26 – Sept 3
Lake Merritt United Methodist Church will soon be undergoing major roof repairs from August 26 through September 3.
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, August 27th, and Sunday, September 3rd, when our morning worship services will be moved to the evenings beginning at 5:30PM.
During this period there will be limited daytime access to the church. FOLLOW this LINK for more details on the roofing project and church accessibility.

This year’s BBQ will be focused on thanking our wonderful Reverend, Pastor Sunae, and welcoming the start of a new year at Lake Merritt and Lake Park UMC’s!
The Barbecue will be held after church on Sunday, July 30. Our special friends, Laurel and Randy, are cooking up hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, and veggie burgers; as well as bringing buns, condiments, and special toppings. Can we ever outdo them? Let’s try!
You may bring a potluck dish to share, as follows:

This SAT, July 22!
Will you join us in serving our Oakland community this weekend? There are many volunteer slots to fill for this Saturday’s Food Pantry and we expect over 350 households. We could also use a few more hands to help with set up on Friday morning.
